Fear of Wokes?

I often wonder whether freedom of expression truly exists in today’s world. Social media used to be a space for open dialogue, but now it seems increasingly censored, especially since the rise of movements advocating diversity, inclusivity, and equality. While these ideals are popular, I’ve found myself silenced when trying to speak out about troubling personal experiences that involve wokes.

For instance, I’ve witnessed behavior from certain individuals identifying as transgender that I believe to be harmful, particularly toward minors. Yet voicing these concerns feels dangerous. Automatically I'll be labeled a bigot, even though my intention is not to generalize or condemn a group, but to call attention to specific acts of abuse. The nuance is lost, and the risk of being “cancelled” looms large.
Similarly, expressing grief over the death of a conservative figure has become fraught. Such sentiments are often met with outrage from those on the political left, as if mourning someone with opposing views is itself an offense. It’s disheartening.
I understand that freedom of speech can be misused because some wield it to harass or demean others. But in my case, I’m not inciting hate. I’m pointing out wrongdoings and it just so happens that the individuals involved belong to groups often shielded from criticism. That doesn’t make my concern an attack. A crime is a crime, regardless of who commits it. To treat my expression of concern as prejudice or fascism is absolutely unjust because it undermines the very principles of justice and accountability.
