Seeing The World

Yesterday’s journey through the deep South of the Tagalog region reminded me that a big part of being alive is about seeing the world, even if that world is only a small corner of the globe. A single stretch of land can unfold into a twelve‑hour journey, so vast and layered that you could spend weeks exploring and still not reach its edges.

What struck me most is that “seeing the world” doesn’t have to mean crossing oceans or stepping into foreign lands. The familiar landscapes around us hold their own wonders. A bend in the road, a cluster of trees, a coastline you’ve never walked before - all of these can reveal mysteries and surprises that deepen your sense of belonging.

Traveling within your own country can be just as eye‑opening as venturing abroad. Each journey uncovers richness: the diversity of people, the hidden histories, the quiet beauty of places often overlooked. These experiences remind you that your homeland is not a single story but a tapestry woven from countless threads.

And so, being alive means opening your eyes to what is near as much as to what is far. It means letting every journey, no matter how small, expand your understanding of the world and of yourself.
